Kavitha from New JerseyHi,
I live in New Jersey and have been taking online lessons from Shri Rajasekhar for close to a year now. From the very first class, Shri Rajasekhar's way of teaching and encouragement has motivated me a lot . What differentiates him from a lot of other teachers is his constant effort to instill a genuine understanding and appreciation for the violin in particular and music in general. His classes are not bound by time limits and even in the online lessons he is able to provide precise feedback and demonstrate fingering techniques with ease. He also puts extra effort into sending recordings of the lessons he teaches which have been extremely helpful aids while practicing. Learning violin from him is a very fulfilling experience and I feel very fortunate to be a part of the CARVA family.Best wishes to all at CARVA, KAVITHA N.
Gogulamurali from ChicagoHello, My name's Shyam Gogulamurali, I'm 18 years old and live in Naperville, Illinois, a
suburban city near Chicago. I have been learning the violin from CA Rajasekar Sir for the past 6 months, and I have to say, by far, this is one of the best learning experiences that I'm getting while learning Carnatic music on a instrument such as the violin. Rajasekar sir teaches with utmost patience and clarity and makes sure the student fully understands the concepts that are being teached. It can be clearly seen that Sir is a wonderful teacher and is a wonderful carnatic maestro by just viewing his unique teaching methodology which is very different and easier than the normal carnatic violin teaching method. With all that said, I am very proud to be part of the CARVA family and I look forward to expanding my musical adventure through this academy, and Rajesekar sir's wonderful tutelage.
Barath from Chennai“A good teacher can be defined as someone who always inspires students to do their best while at the same time trying to make learning interesting as well as creative.”I would like to pen a few words on my Violin teacher, Mr Carva Rajasekhar.
To a person like me, who has had absolutely no Carnatic background, gaining interest in Violin and Carnatic music is due to all the inspiration given by my guru, Mr CA Rajasekar.
I thought it was late for me to start learning violin when I was 24 years old, but, he taught us that there is no age limit to learn and Learning music was not a short course but it is a continuous education to keep improving ourselves.
“A teacher's purpose is not to create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own image”. - We are free to develop our individuality at CARVA. He gives us opportunity to air our thoughts and initiate discussions to clarify our doubts on Music concepts.
We have a mix of people learning at our school, small kids to grown ups at different levels from beginner to krithi level. This offers a very good platform to learn and play along with senior students on stage.
His enthusiasm, motivation and his desire to make us play well is what that keeps me looking forward for my classes every week. They say “Teaching is the profession that teaches all the other professions”. I may be learning the violin, but this learning curve is definitely helping me in my day to day professional life too. That it is not easy to achieve success, but practice can make it perfect. We have to strive to improve from what we were previously were some of the many concepts I understood from my brief learning so far. Sir’s motivation, his individual attention to details, his patient teaching his sense of humour, all my fellow friends at class makes CARVA the best place to learn violin and much more.
If you are interested in music and want to learn more than just violin, this is where you got to be…CARVA!!!!
